食いしん坊ちぇりぃ@yummyyummycherry2026年2月19日読み始めた一人称が…Because the only butler I know is Mr. Carson from Downton Abbey, my brain somehow cannot help but read this novel in his deep slow tone…It’s making me take more time than usual, so I really would like to stop but can’t😂 Even so, I’m glad I watched the whole series, which has educated me about butlers and maids. Stevens just left for his motoring trip, so there’s not much to say about this novel at the moment, but will see what his trip brings. **20th Feb** Having read below quote, I recalled my mother nodding to herself when we first visited rural area in UK. She said she had read passages from novels describing sceneries of Britain and had always wondered what it actually looks like and it seems like the pieces finally got together. “What I saw was principally field upon field rolling off into the far distance. The land rose and fell gently, and the fields were bordered by hedges and trees. There were dots in some of the distant fields which I assumed to be sheep.”(p25)
