  • We have done to read this book. A sense of melancholy woven throughout the entire text is a defining feature of Kazuo Ishiguro’s writing style. He must love humanity.
  • Through the first discussion with the book club members, I began to notice details in the book’s background that I hadn’t seen before. Re-reading this book gave me enticing time.

The language is so simple, yet the story is touching. So far I really like the atmosphere of this novel.
  • I’ve just finished reading this book. I loved it though I can’t fully explain why it touched me so deeply. It left me wondering: what is humanity? What does it mean to have a heart? What does it meant to pray?
  • It’s beautiful.

    人間性の継承者は人間ではないのか。ポストヒューマニティ社会の可能性
  • I’m planning to read this for the next book club. It’s been a long time since I last read a book that didn‘t leave me feeling uneasy or uncomfortable. I’m looking forward to reading something simply beautiful and melancholic! I trust Kazuo Ishiguro always to tie up every thread in the end.
